UNLV track & field alumna Amanda Bingson (2009-12) continued her reign as the American champion in the hammer throw with her second consecutive first-place finish at the USATF Outdoor Championships. Bingson, a 2012 London Olympian, took control of Saturday's competition in the Golden State's capital city on her first attempt - a stadium-record toss of 244-1 (74.41m). The Las Vegas native one-upped herself on her second effort, which traveled 246-3 (75.07m) and was nearly 11 feet better than her closest competitor Jessica Cosby (235-4/71.72m).
