UNLV alumna Amanda Bingson (2009-12) advanced to Friday's hammer throw final at the 2013 IAAF World Championships after she registered a distance of 71.90 meters (235-11) during Wednesday's group stage. Bingson, the current US record holder and 2013 national champion, stepped into the throwing ring of Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow and connected on her first attempt to qualify for the finale.
