UNLV track & field had a pair of Thursday's participants qualify for Friday's quarterfinal rounds in the 100m and 800m at the NCAA West Preliminary. The Rebels' Destiny Smith-Barnett finished second in her heat with a time of 11.53, which was 18th overall in the event, while teammate Avi'Tal Wilson-Perteete claimed the top spot in the 800m in 2:06.14 on day one of the meet hosted by Sacramento State at Hornet Stadium.
